Plan your pit stop ahead at l’Abbaye du Palais. It is a six-hour drive from Calais. Access by road via the always quiet A20 from Paris or Toulouse to Bourganeuf (close to Limoges) You are exactly halfway by then. Your room is available after 4 pm.

You will not have to worry about your children, as they will be enjoying themselves from the moment they arrive. Together with the other children they will eat at the kitchen table. In the evening you will dine at the ‘table d’hôtes’.

The holiday feeling will be present from the start. The next morning after a delicious breakfast you will continue your journey, with or without caravan, to your final destination.

For those who would like to add  a similar break to their return journey we have come up with the so-called pit-stop arrangement.

The price of this arrangement* is EUR145,00 per person (EUR 160,00 in July and August) and comprises:

• 2 nights in a double room (1x journey out, 1x return journey)

• 2 x a 3-course dinner, wine and coffee included

• 2 x an extensive breakfast the following morning

The rate for children from 2 to 12 is EUR 55,00 which includes: 2 nights, 2 x breakfast and 2x children’s menu, provided they stay in the parents’ bedroom in a child bed.

Children < 2 year stay free. We provide a babycot.

* Only if booked in advance, based on a double room, not applicable at Easter, Whit sun, Christmas and the New Year. Supplement for a single room is EUR 20,00 per night.
