l’Abbaye du Palais is located in the Limousin, Creuse department (23). It is a six hour drive from Calais. 

From the ferry terminal follow the signs Paris/Lille. Once outside Calais follow the signs to Paris. As you approach Charles de Gaulle airport look out for signs to Bordeaux/Nantes. Follow the signs to Bordeaux and you will be led onto the A10. Follow the A10 until you see signs for Clermont Ferrand which will take you onto the A71. Look out for signs for Limoges which will take you onto the A20/E09 in the direction of Limoges.

On the A20/E09 you continue until you get to exit nr.23. You follow the signs for Gueret/La Souterraine (N145/E620). After about 20 km you turn off at the Bourganeuf exit. Now you have arrived in the beautiful coulisse landscape of the Creuse.

From here only 30 more minutes to go. The road is now called D912, which you follow until you get to the roundabout with water fountain in historical Bourganeuf .

You take the third exit on the roundabout and follow the N141 in the direction of Clermont Ferrand/Gueret. After about 2,3 km turn left on to the D 940A. in the direction of Bosmoreau-les-Mines. After about 4,5 km on this road the blue gates on your right indicate the entrance to l’Abbeye du Palais.

From Limoges Airport

On exiting the airport follow signs to the A20. Join the A20 going south [Toulouse].  Leave the A20 at Junction 34, signposted Clermont Ferrand & Lac de Vassiviere. This takes you through the town of Panazol on the N141. Follow this road for about 50km through St Leonard, Sauviat and Bourganeuf.

You take the first exit on the roundabout and follow the N141 in the direction of Clermont Ferrand/Gueret. After about 2,3 km turn left on to the D 940A. in the direction of Bosmoreau-les-Mines. After about 4,5 km on this road the blue gates on your right indicate the entrance to l’Abbeye du Palais.
