THE REGION

Peace and quiet are key words when describing the Limousin area. For visitors looking to escape the hustle and bustle, this is the place to relax and unwind.

Close to the Dordogne but still relatively undiscovered the gently rolling landscape is crossed with rivers, creeks and lakes, hence the name ‘Little Canada’.

The department ‘La Creuse (23) is part of the province of the Limousin, as well as the Haute Vienne (87) and Corrèze (19). The name Creuse is a derivation from the French word Creux, which means deep or hollow.

The Creuse has only 130,000 inhabitants and is the least populated area in France. There is no industry, and tourism is slowly developing.
