GOLFING

During your next golf holiday play on the always peaceful courses of the Limousin. There are nine different golf courses within the region, among which the prestigious ‘Golf de la Porcelaine’ (included in the top thousand European golf courses according to the Peugeot Golf Guide)

The courses have been laid out in the beautiful scenery of the Limousin, the green heart of France. Here you can still play golf at leisure: there are no starting times, with the exception of a few competition days.

A good opportunity to try the game the French way: the first nine holes in the morning, followed by an extensive lunch at the clubhouse and the remaining nine holes in the afternoon.

And of course a personal welcome, an excellent dinner, and a first-rate room await you at the l’Abbey du Palais. Check our golf arrangements.

The golf courses
Less than 5 minutes from l’Abbey du Palais you will find a short (1.205 m.) but challenging nine-holes par 28 course Golf de Bourganeuf. ‘This course is an absolute must because of the adventure, a very nice start for the bigger challenges on La Porcelaine.’ According to Cesare Kruisheer with Equipe Golf Publishing House.

At five minutes from the centre of Limoges the municipal 18 hole golf course of Limoges Saint-Lazare is located. An attractive, professional course of 6.22m with wide fairways. Characteristic features: par 72, slope 120-124.

Much difference in height and a splendid view await you at Golf Naturel Du Chammet on the plateau de Millevaches. Charachteristic features: 9 holes, par 35, slope 113.

And of course you will tee off at the prestigious course Golf de La Porcelaine, 10 holes, par 72, slope 135.

Elegance magazine writes in an article about our golf arrangements (March addition 2004):

‘Challenging course, laid out with many dog legs and a multitude of obstacles, such as artfully placed bunkers and wicked water parties. Designing this golf course the architect has made optimal use of the beautiful hilly scenery; which has given an excellent result.’

And if you don’t mind a 1,5 and 2 hours’ drive you can add another 4 following courses: Golf de Saint-Junien (18 holes), Golf de Neuvic d’Ussel (2x 9 holes), Golf de Brive (18 holes) and Golf de Coiraux (18 holes).

For golfers who apart from great golf courses value a great setting, a warm atmosphere and good food, we have made up two attractive arrangements.
