CLIMATE & WEATHER

The climate is characterised by a mild spring and autumn, dry summers and moderate winters.

Precipitation (average 91cm per year) falls mainly in the spring and autumn. The sun shines about 1853 hours per year.

The average temperature in the summer is around 24ºC. These conditions make the Limousin a very attractive holiday destination.

Nature

The Creuse is located on the edge of the ‘Massif Central’. Due to the granite bottom the water does not immediately sink in and in this way numerous rivers and small lakes have been created. That is how the region got its nickname: ‘Little Canada’.

The friendly coulisse landscape shows pastures fenced in by wide hedges, interspersed with thick pine and deciduous woods. In autumn the leaves turn into all shades of colour.
