| children's paradise | ||
|
l’Abbaye
du Palais is a true paradise for children. They won’t have time to
think about the portable DVD player, the game boy or even the Sony play station. Their fantasies will be tickled and come to life again.
Building a cabin in the woods, playing hide-and-seek in a hollow tree,
playing football or giving a fashion show with clothes from the dress-up
chest
is a blast to every child. The ride on the tractor, with all the
children in the trailer is for many of them the highlight of their
vacation. Children up to the age of 14 / 15 will leave you undisturbed,
because they have their own activities to enjoy.
For
older children the immediate surroundings possibly offer less suitable
entertainment. |

Apart
from the challenges the domain itself has to offer them, there are small
bicycles, tractors, a real BERG skelter, swings, a badminton court, a
table tennis table and a bocce ball court. A
fenced-in swimming pool (depth 0,25 - 1.60m) and a large
trampoline are also available for hours of fun. Furthermore
there are bunnies, dwarf ewes, chickens, cats and a dog that love to be
cuddled. |

| bad weather activities | ||
| n case of bad weather and for as long as the play attic is not ready, the children are allowed to play games in the main building. We have a large variety of games and puzzles for all ages. Doing a puppet show is also possible and there is a sjoelbak ( a Dutch type of shovel-board). The billiards and the dartboard may also be used, but only under parental supervision. Last but not least there is the video/DVD player and a large number of movies for when it really pours. | ||
| region | ||
|
The
region offers a variety of entertainment. The river Creuse is known for
its many little sand beaches with good quality swim water. Especially
during the summer months some extra facilities are offered. Quite a few
attractions are located nearby. Simple attractions are: the wolves park,
the giant labyrinth, an amusement park with swimming pool and a see
water aquarium. Great fun and well organised is the new tree climbing park
‘Arbre en Arbre’, where blue, red and black trails have been
set out through treetops. A little further away is the theme park Vulcania.
Quite a hit with children and very educational. More
detailed information on these attractions can be given during your stay at
l’Abbaye du Palais. |
||
| children's restaurant | ||
| There
is a special
table
d’hôtes
for the children. To heighten the children’s fun and to give the
parents the opportunity to dine in peace, the children eat separately.
They all eat together, either outside at the picnic table or in case of
bad weather in the abbey kitchen.
Around
6.30 pm the bell rings: dinner time! The child menus come with drinks and
dessert. |
